The Liberty Origin 106 received a performance boost for 2022 with the introduction of Liberty’s VMT 1.0 core. Built around a bamboo and poplar wood core, the ski adds carbon stringers for increased stiffness and a single vertical metal strut to enhance stability and dampness. That lone metal strut goes a long way toward improving overall composure, elevating the confidence and fun factor of an already impressive ski.

Designed with softer snow and freeride skiing in mind, the Origin 106 truly comes alive in deeper conditions, yet it remains surprisingly capable on groomers and firmer snow. Sitting neatly between the Origin 101 and the Origin 112 in Liberty’s lineup, the 106 carves out its own unique place. With rocker and taper that complement its shape, the ski is happy to make any turn you ask of it—but it really shines when making playful, smeary turns.
