My husband and I wanted to buy road bikes and were completely new to road biking. We looked at several stores in Edmonton and ended up at Mud Sweat and Gears in Sherwood Park. From the very beginning, all staff was very friendly, helpful and no pressure. We came back and tried out a few bikes. Jeff was great with educating us on the different bikes and getting us out riding to see what felt best. We purchased 2 road bikes and a great Thule bike rack from Jeff as well as some accessories. We are very happy with the products and service. About a month in, we were about to go on a long ride and had a valve problem on one of the tires. We hauled the bikes in to the store disappointed that our ride would be cancelled (it was important as we are pressed for training time before an event in 10 days and I had taken a day off work to ride). Paul (owner) happened to be at the store and they were not even open yet. He said come on in, we'll look after you. Sean was great, got the valve fixed and bikes tuned up in no time, allowing us to still get our ride in for the day. All the staff have been extremely great to deal with, very helpful, and customer service oriented. We have already recommended you to our friends who have also bought bikes and are really happy with them. Thank you Paul, Jeff, Sean & Mud Sweat & Gears staff !!
Over the past few years, I've bought two bikes and spent thousands of dollars here. In my opinion, this is the best bike shop on the Edmonton area.
They have the most sales and mechanical training for their staff. These are not high school kids on summer break, these are career staff.
Sometimes, the shop will get overwhelmed during busy season and there is a wait. They are taking steps to mitigate this, however, it can happen.
I can be a tough customer. These people have what it takes to consistently provide safe bikes and accessories that you'll enjoy. The prices vary, but they only sell medium to high range products. I may suggest getting the consumable items like chain lubes at crappy tire.
